SEMPLE, R.J. Murray - of St. Thomas, passed away suddenly at the St. Thomas- Elgin General Hospital, on Thursday, August 11th, 2011, in his 82nd year. Dearly loved husband of 56 years of R. Marie (Dickson) Semple. Loved father of Ron Semple, Cindy Lotus and her husband Paul, Nancy Martin and her husband Bob and Darren Semple and his wife Debra. Dear brother of John Semple and his wife Beryl and the late Joe Semple. Loved grandfather of Jim and Jen Semple, Matthew (Fiancee Sarah) and Andrea Lotus and her husband Blake Belcher, Rob, Ted and his wife Heidi and Wesley Martin and Brooke, Laine and Anna Semple and great grandfather of Matthew, Lucas and Curtis. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Murray was born in Milverton on March 16th, 1930, the son of the late Jim and Janet (Brydone) Semple. He has lived in St. Thomas since 1958 and formerly lived in Milverton and Atwood. He had a lifetime career in law enforcement, He belonged to the O.P.P. Association and in the 80's was a member of the R.C.M.P. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. A public memorial service to celebrate Murray's life will be held on Friday, August 19th at Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas (55 Hincks St) at 1:00 p.m. Visitation on Thursday evening at WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas from 7-9 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Remembrances may be made to the charity of choice.
